She is the daughter of L.K. Dutta is a retired Wing Commander and her mother Jennifer Puddi, a British national. Her sister is also serving in Indian Air Force and her cousin is DJ Nitin Sawhney, who is renowned Composer.
Lara Dutta obtained the name with beauty with brain in 2000 when she won the Miss Universe title and she is the second Indian actress who won this title after Sushmitta Sen. This bollywood actress gained the 9.99 marks in Miss Universe contest which was the record in the history of Miss Universe.
